The Word Is The Word, No Matter How We Distort Him

I suppose I should clarify the title of this article. Yes, "The Word" is a Him. The Word is the second person of the Trinity, that is Jesus. Here the apostle John explains in John 1:1-5 and 14-17:

¹In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ²He was with God in the beginning.³Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. ⁴In him was life, and that life was the light of men. ⁵The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

¹⁴The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. ¹⁵John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, "This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' " ¹⁶From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. ¹⁷For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Often times Christians refer to the Word of God, that is the Bible, as "The Word". This is also an acceptable use of the term "The Word" because Christians believe that the words in the Bible are a direct revelation from God.

Then I cam upon this video and I wanted to cry. She is talking to a Catholic organization, being a professing Catholic herself. Her speech is dealing with how her agenda, now the agenda of the majority in positions of power in Congress and the administration, is what Jesus would want.

I will not cast judgment for I am as guilty as she is. Just how one's thinking can be bent so far away from God, yet convince yourself it is true, is beyond me. This is a woman who supports all methods of abortion, even late term partial birth abortion. And that's only one of many. But listen to her, can you see it? Read Matthew 7:15-23, it's titled "A Tree and It's Fruit". Absolutely one of the scariest passages in the Bible, and it's aimed at all those who say they follow Christ.

I'm finding the words hard to come by. I can't even begin to describe it! How did we get here in such a short period of time? I thought the lead up to 9/11, then the actual attack of 9/11 and the continued activities of terrorist organizations around the world would only solidify this fact:

Not all Muslims are terrorists, but to me it seems 99.99% of terrorists are Muslim.

There are those in power and in the media who either hate our country and our form of government and want to "fundamentally transform" the United States of America or are just plain stupid. President Obama mentioned that "fundamental transformation" would be the result if he became president [said just before the election].

Now, just 8+ years from 9/11, those in power and in the media seem to wish that acts of terror were perpetrated by white conservative American citizens. Even better, wouldn't it be great if they were part of that tea party movement! Everything is upside down and backwards. It's maddening and I can't stand it any longer. Don't worry, I'm going to hang in there. But it is at an unbelievable level and to be honest, a level that is beginning to scare me.

There is too much to go into, but here are just a few things to chew on.

As I write this, just this morning it was announced they've made at least one arrest in the attempted car bombing in New York's Time Square. Officials arrested Faisal Shahzad, a naturalized US citizen of Pakistani birth. It is also now known he traveled to Pakistan and went through some level of terrorist training. There have been others taken into custody, but as of now this is what I know.

Let's go back to yesterday, before anyone had any idea who was behind the attempted bombing. NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg had this to say to Katie Couric when asked who he thought might be behind the attempted bombing:

Thank you mayor Bloomberg for giving Muslim extremists a pass and instead, your 25 cent guess, that it could be anybody, like... 1) the perp acted alone, 2) the person is "home grown", 3) someone who is mentally deranged and 4) someone with a political agenda like not liking the "health care bill" [even though it is a law now, he called it a bill. Maybe the Mayor needs to watch the old School House Rock video about how a bill becomes a law].

Can you believe that?! By saying the perp probably "acted alone" he's saying that the person isn't a Muslim extremist tied to any organized terror group and probably a political activist who doesn't like the current efforts of the President and congress, like, oh I don't know...maybe one of those racist tea party people?

Then today, after the suspect was arrested, MSNBC's Contessa Brewer said it all in regards to where the media stands. And yes this is where 99% of the media stands.

Yes Contessa too bad he wasn't one of those dangerous tea party "haters" with their lawn chairs and American flags. By the way, the suspect is Muslim and he's a registered Democrat in Connecticut. He's one of yours Contessa!

And finally, now that [one of] the "alleged" perp(s) is under arrest, Mayor Bloomberg has these words to the fine citizens of New York

New York will not tolerate any bias after the arrest of a U.S. citizen from Pakistan in the Times Square car bombing attempt [which] also applies to potential backlash against Muslim New Yorkers. There are a few bad apples among any groups.

Mark the date and time. It's 1:19pm CST on Monday March 22nd, the day after "Dependence" day. I was watching CSPAN last night when "reverend" Al was on Fox News, so I didn't see this until now (yes it's my late lunch hour). He is exactly right (see video below).

I have already had this same conversation with a friend today. This is our fault; we asked for it. By "our" and "we" I mean collectively as a country. It was all out there. There is no excuse for anyone not to have known exactly what Obama stood for; what camp he resides in. For those who seem to be so shocked by this revelation because A) the totality of news you get is by tuning into one of the major network evening news broadcasts for 30 minutes a couple of times a week, or B) you simply felt it was time for a black man to win the white house, or C) you got a chill up your leg when he spoke....you compromised 200+ years of blood, sweat and tears because of your shallow uninformed self interests.

Health Care Legislation - Besides all the back room deals and bribes, President Obama still couldn't get enough votes from his own party. How did he finally get the votes? He promised Bart Stupack he would issue an Executive Order which would circumvent all the pro-abortion language in the bill (which the dems claim isn't there).

Cap & Trade Legislation - The President never got the votes in congress to pass this socialist legislation, so he went around congress and issued an Executive Order charging the EPA to do it anyway.

Government Regulation of the Internet - Congress says no way. Obama issues an Executive Order charging the FCC to do it anyway.

The Debt Commission - The senate blocked it. Obama created the commission anyway by way of an Executive Order. He even had the nerve to say he would do it during the State of The Union Address.

Card Check? The President is still pushing that one through by any means even though congress has rejected it.

I know this is a more reading than you want. Heck, my ADD prevents me from reading most anything longer than one page UNLESS I find it fascinating or very important. To me all of this fits both bills.

While on one hand I tend to think our nation has "progressed" too far to ever turn back. On the other hand I know that with God all things are possible. What I am getting at is the possibility of eliminating abortion from our country...and the world.

This issue has a long and ugly history in our country. To understand how it came about you must read the following articles:

The History of Planned Parenthood: When reading this article if you come across a term you don't understand Google it! Learn about things like eugenics and the Supreme Court case of Buck v Bell. If you thought the Nazis were the authors of ethnic cleansing you don't know your history.

Margaret Sanger's focus was not to promote birth rates among the nations educated elite, but rather eliminating births among those deemed unfit, or as she called them "slum mothers". If you think that was then, but things are different now, here are just a couple of examples:

Hillary Clinton praised Margaret Sanger when she received Planned Parenthood's Margaret Sanger award in April of 2009 saying, "I admire Margaret Sanger enormously, her courage, her tenacity, her vision ... "

Or the interview with Supreme Court Justice Ruth Ginsberg in the New York Times, July 2009. I've linked to it and the quote I use below is found at the top of page 4, but I recommend you back up to page 3 and read a couple of questions that lead up to her giving the answer. In answering about a case that upheld the Hyde Amendment which prohibits abortion funding for Medicaid, Justice Ginsberg tells how she was surprised by the ruling because she thought that Roe v Wade was intended to be for the poor. Why did she think that (emphasis mine):

Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of. So that Roe was going to be then set up for Medicaid funding for abortion.

How about the fact that President Obama's advisor for Science and Technology co-wrote a book called Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment; in which he discussed the possible role of a wide variety of solutions to overpopulation including enforced population controls, like forced sterilization for women after they gave birth to a designated number of children, placing sterilants in the nations water supply or ever better, forced abortions for certain undesirables.

This only scratches the surface of the evil behind what has cleverly been branded health and reproductive rights.

Honestly; does this sound like the America you want? Again, I appeal to common sense. Even if you do not believe in The one true God or any god, must you also take that right away from those who do? Yes, you have to take that right away because it is afforded all Americans in the US Constitution.

Following an ACLU lawsuit filed against Santa Rosa School district in Florida, Judge M. Casey Rodgers ruled to deny prayer in the counties schools. Evidently the school district decided to come to an agreement with the ACLU without fighting it, also called a consent decree. Trying to overturn the decree one of the teachers gave this testimony:

During testimony in December, Michelle Winkler broke down on the witness stand when describing how a coworker sought comfort from her after losing her two-year-old child. The two hid behind a closet door to pray because they feared the consent decree. Denise Gibson, an elementary teacher for 20 years, testified the order forces her to tell parents she cannot respond if they talk about church or their faith. She may not even respond to an email from a parent if it contains a Scripture verse or “God bless you.” Instead, the District requires her to open a separate email to respond rather than hit “reply,” in order to eliminate any trace of religious language.

Also:

School employees are prohibited from “communication with a deity” when in their “official capacity.”
They are considered to be in their “official capacity” even when not working – whenever they attend a “school event,” which includes events during the day, including breaks, after-school events on or off campus, and privately sponsored events on campus for students.
Employees cannot bow their head or fold their hands and must prohibit others from praying, even in meetings such as Good News Clubs or privately sponsored baccalaureate services.

I mean come on! You may not believe in God, you may want to have all personal prayer banned from public school, but are you brave enough to say that this cannot happen because the US Constitution protects it?!

The first amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Scientific Censorship

I keep writing on this theme, but that is because again and again and again I am seeing old long held scientific theories of the origins of life and of evolution fall into greater doubt. Yet another one is now falling away and that is the idea that the first life arose in tidal pools in a theory widely known as primordial soup. I've written about the fallen long held theory of dinosaur to bird evolution. I've shown the debacle behind the hype of "Ida" and also how vested interests are the enemy of sound science. Just click on the "Science" label on the right hand menu of this blog to read what I'm talking about.

When I first saw the title of the article rejecting the primordial soup theory I was excited, but quickly I realized why a secular scientific journal would allow it to be published. The reason? Because in it's place another BS theory was introduced. The fact is the scientists have had no success in remotely replicating or proving the primordial soup theory. They continued for years and each attempt met failure. The only way they are willing to move away from it was if they could come up with another theory that not only would buy more time, but also wouldn't challenge their preconceived idea as to what they need the end result to be. And so instead of life arising in primordial tidal pools they give us the alternative theory that (drum roll) life arose from gases and that the energy for first life came from harnessing geochemical gradients created by "mother Earth" at a special kind of deep-sea hydrothermal vent.

So we go from primordial soup to primordial vents?

This science will continue to demonstrate that a theory of life coming about in the absence of a living Creator falls short of reality. This failure will not be due to the quality of the science, but rather because their goal is to discard anything the doesn't fit into the particular belief system of the scientific elite. Censorship never leads to good science.

Pro-Choice Hypocrisy

If you've been following the uproar over the not yet released Tim Tebow Superbowl ad, you've seen the hypocrisy of the pro-choice advocates; at least in their leadership and spokes persons. To me it unveils the true intentions of the so-called pro-choice lobby. They are not pro-choice at all, but rather pro-abortion. This is something I have written about time and time again.

At the time of this posting this ad has only been seen by it's producers and some of the execs at CBS. Yet, even though the pro-choice lobby hasn't seen it (and they admit they haven't seen it) they know they hate it, making claims that it aims to "deny a woman's right to choose". This is ridiculous. The ad tells the story of a woman who did choose and her choice was to give birth to the baby rather than abort it, even against the advice of her doctors. That's it!

The pro-choice movement isn't interested in choice at all. They want you to get an abortion, period. They are consumed with the "right" to control life and death and by doing so, to me, they reveal their true intentions. Complete autonomy. I see the world through spiritual eyes and it is the same lie that caused the fall of the first man and woman; the promise of being a god.

Here is a great article from the Washington Post to read and I've also linked to a video interview that shows the extent the pro-choice lobby will go to make their point. I know that there are many ordinary people who are pro-choice that have no issue with a positive story that celebrates the CHOICE of life. But there is an element within the pro-life movement that is focused on death. They err towards death at every opportunity and to them I say, may God have mercy.

Freedom of Religion and the Constitution

In support of free speech I say you are entitled. Quoting the article on the Fox News website:

An atheist organization is blasting the U.S. Postal Service for its plan to honor Mother Teresa with a commemorative stamp, saying it violates postal regulations against honoring "individuals whose principal achievements are associated with religious undertakings."

Now to exercise my free speech:

Yes, once again we hear from the imbeciles over at the Freedom From Religion Foundation. Their name says it all. To think that you can rid any and all religious references, hints or appearances from life is so brainless. Not to mention this "right" to rid us from religion is not theirs! The first amendment clearly states that all citizens of the USA have the right to freedom of religion not a freedom from it. Why do they think they can force it out of lives? Oh yes, because of that silly idea of "separation of Church and state". Laughable; show me where that is in the constitution.

Those who have twisted that non-constitutional phrase into something that could or should possibly shape our society are fools. You incorrectly think it means that God should stay out of the government's business. Make it mean whatever you want it to mean, it doesn't apply because it is not in the constitution. What is in the constitution clearly states that the government must stay out of the business of how the people chose to exercise their religion. A stamp with Mother Theresa, or Moses, or Buddha or Muhammad or Jesus, I could care less. But no person or institution has the right to say no to it.

I do take exception to the Post Office having a regulation that says they won't honor individuals whose achievements are religious in nature. That is nothing more that a politically correct cop out and what fuels these complaints. I can protest that decision and do my best to convince them to reverse it. But, the Post Office can freely choose to display anything they want on their stamps and I have no right to force them to do anything, so long as the image doesn't violate any law.

Do you believe the Constitution contains timeless truths; things that are true for all people, in all times? Not if you think like the stream of so called intellectuals that have come along over the ages. One sits in the White House now. In Mr. Obama's book "The Audacity of Hope" he states:

Ultimately, though, I have to side with Justice Breyer’s view of the Constitution—that it is not a static but rather a living document, and must be read in the context of an ever-changing world.

Not me. Our founders laid down a blueprint for a government this world has never known before. It has provided it's citizens a standard of living far greater than any country has ever had in the history of the world. It must be interpreted today as the founders laid it out then. To stray away from it would mean to stray away from what and who we are as Americans.

Killing The Unborn - A Fundemental Right?

This past Friday (Jan. 22, 2010) President Obama commemorated the 37th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision by releasing a statement:

Today we recognize the 37th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade, which affirms every woman’s fundamental constitutional right to choose whether to have an abortion, as well as each American’s right to privacy from government intrusion. I have, and continue to, support these constitutional rights. I also remain committed to working with people of good will to prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant women and families, and strengthen the adoption system. Today and every day, we must strive to ensure that all women have limitless opportunities to fulfill their dreams.

A statement artfully crafted with doublespeak in order to support this evil act. He couples the right to an abortion with every American's right to privacy from Government intrusion. He say he supports more prevention of unintended pregnancies and couples that with his stance for limitless opportunities for women to fulfill their dreams.

As I write this our nation has allowed the killing of nearly 45 million unborn babies since Roe v. Wade. Abortion is the number one method of killing Blacks and Hispanics today. The President himself has said that he wouldn't want his daughters "punished with a baby" as the result of an unintended pregnancy. Supreme court justice Ruth Ginsberg admitted in a Dec. 2009 NY Times article that she voted in favor of Roe v Wade because she saw it as a method to rid the nation of certain "undesirables". Evil!

The big question I have to ask is ultimately where do rights come from? For those who believe in God the only answer you can have is that rights come from God. Our founding fathers believed this; read the Declaration of Independence. For the unbeliever rights are granted by the government and the government determines rights, not based on what the majority want, no. Rather, the government decides what rights we have based on the ideas of a few elitists who just happen to be in power at the time. When a people allow their government to supplant God, it never ends well. Refer to Stalinist Russia, Nazi Germany, Communist China under Mao, and the darling of today's elitist progressives, Communist Cuba and the dictatorial regime in Venezuela.

The hypocrisy of our President knows no bound. He calls himself a man of faith yet embraces the elitist power structure that brings huge government control over our lives. Didn't he say that a person's right to abortion was a victory against government intrusion into our private lives? Just asking....

All rights come from God and God never gives us the right to do that which is as inherently evil as the act of abortion.

Responding to AARP - Eddie Style!

It's my first post of the year! There has been a lot happening in the world of politics, but I'm not going to write about every little things going on out there. I focus mostly on pro-life issues, constitutional rights such as freedom of speech and religion, and creation science. But I couldn't pass up this one.

My birthday was on December 19th and I turned 49 years old. Then somewhat unexpectedly, only 16 days later, IT came in the mail. IT is the dreaded AARP membership letter. Honestly I could care less about my age and even if there was a brief wince when I saw the letter, that quickly subsided because I know AARP could care less about the age of their members. They want the membership dues and to sell seniors medicare gap insurance. It's money that drives them.

If you keep up with politics you know AARP is a very left leaning organization. I'm not going to go into all of the facts of this, you can do the research and decide for yourself. For me though, I would never join this organization. So when I received the membership letter I knew right away that this deserved more than just tearing it up and tossing it! So I thought I would document how to do it Eddie style.

Ah yes, the dreaded letter.

The contents. The membership form showing all of the sweet benefits, the coveted AARP membership card and of course the postage paid return envelop.

Here is what they will receive when they open the envelop. The AARP card meticulously cut into strips and a heart felt note from (tee-hee) moi.

And it comes back to them in the same unsuspecting way they sent it to me. Postage paid.

And if that's not bad enough, I read that Child Protective Services is going to let her keep the kid. What does it take? Let's see:

Mom is a moron (opening a "tab" beer is like on the order of completing a Rubik cube)- check
Dad likes drinking in the streets and is well known to do so by his kid - check
Dad's now in jail - check
Mom's father leaves unsupervised beer in cooler out back that is easily assessable by children - check
Child skilled at disarming safety devices on door knobs - check
Home not secure enough at 2:00 am to prevent a child from getting out into the streets - check
Child is known to want to get into trouble, drinks alcohol, is adept at breaking and entering, theft and enjoys a little cross dressing - check
Mom is too stupid to know that this not only really dangerous behavior, but seems to not even understand it is ALL HER FAULT. CHECK!!!

Scientific Reasoning - This Is How It's Done

Watch the video. It's a little over 10 minutes, but well worth it. In it you will see with your own eyes and hear with your own ears the two dominant and opposing thought processes of the people in this world. The majority of us fall into one of these two camps. Neither are unreasonable. The two carry out a conversation that is civil and calm.

I have to admit that what makes this exchange so valuable is the combination of two things. 1) The ability of the interviewer to present the facts and ask pointed questions, and 2) the willingness of the Green Peace activist to continue with the interview so we can all witness for our selves why her thinking is flawed. Understand it's not just her data that is flawed; no, it is how she thinks that is the root cause.

The apex of the argument occurs at the 7:25 mark. She admits that her belief in the crisis of "man made" global warming is based on faith; faith in sources that support her own pre-conceived ideas that man made global warming is true. Many have said to me that my faith in God is the same thing as someone's faith in global warming and I would agree with the exception of one major difference. If anyone can prove that my sources for believing in God are false I would give up any belief in God. But again, proof is objective facts that is outside of what I feel or want to believe. The woman in this video refuses to want to do that.

I keep saying this; I just don't get it. Watch the video and you tell me, how do the answers given make you feel? Deep down in your heart of hearts is this right or wrong? Or is it a gray area?

Gray?! What could be gray about the issue of abortion. The doctor is very clever with his answers. For example when the woman asks the doctor what will be "removed" and the doctor answers "a fetus..but a fetus is not a baby", is that a truthful answer? In one way it is; a fetus is not a baby. However, the next question that the woman should have asked is "Is a fetus a living human?". The answer to that question is absolutely YES. From conception to natural death we are always a living human. A zygote is a zygote, an embryo is an embryo, a fetus is a fetus, a baby is a baby, a toddler is a toddler, a child is a child, a teen is a teen, a man is a man. All are stages of human life.

Science Becomming Scandalous

At first I didn't want to write about this, and I am sorry it's such a long article, but I have a lot to say. I get so tired of putting forth these arguments, trying to shine a light on how scientist's preconceived ideas is what determines the final result even if the data does not fit what you want it to be. Just click on the Science label on the right side bar of my blog page to read them.

Let me state again for the record: If the data is honestly and exhaustively examined and it shows a result, and that result is repeated in a vast majority of samples, I will hold the result to be true and that truth will formulate current beliefs of reality. What does that mean? If someone proves to me that there is no God, understanding that proof is something outside of us, proof is not influenced by what I think or how I feel, it is objective; knowing that, if someone proves there is no God, I will stop believing in God.

But that goes for scientists too. It's what makes science dependable and based on integrity. If the data disproves what you thought is true, you must change what you believe to be true, period.

We've seen this in the recent Climategate scandal. At least that scandal is finally being exposed so the public can see for themselves what's being done. We also have seen this in the science of Darwinian evolution, which I have written extensively about, specifically in the area of soft tissue being found in dinosaur fossils that are supposedly 60-80 million years old. Scientists say that it is impossible for soft tissue to survive that length of time, even saying they doubt soft tissue can survive longer than a million years tops. Yet when faced with finding soft tissue and being quoted as saying it is impossible for soft tissue to be present in a 60 million year old fossil, do they say "we have to rethink the science behind how we determine the ages of these fossils"? No, they just say "I know it's impossible, but there you have it. Isn't it amazing?".

To provide you with a visual, I've included a link to a video from the TV show 60 Minutes. This dino soft tissue story has finally made it to the main stream...after 10 years! It's about 13 minutes long and you have to endure a Viagra commercial but it's worth it. Watch it with a ear tuned for how they carry out their science. A few notes about this video:

Jack Horner has been around for a long time. I was reading his work back in the 80's and he's been the leading scientist that supports the theory that dinosaurs evolved into modern day birds. I was surprised to hear him still pushing that theory because I've read that it has all but been abandoned. Read my article called More Scientific Backtracking.
When the soft tissue find was first published the scientific community's first response was harsh criticism. Funny how that is. Instead of verifying whether it's true or not, the first reaction is to kill the messenger.
Watch the video, I think it's around the 6:30 mark when they start talking about the soft tissue find; even with the evidence in front of their eyes, and despite their own incredulity, the two still accepted the story that organic remnants that should have rotted long ago had somehow been preserved for longer than many current species have supposedly existed on earth.

Why manipulate the data?

In regards to the Climategate scandal, best case, this scandal means that scientists are manipulating the data to show man made global warming is true when it is not because they want to tap into the billions of dollars in research money available. Basically fabricating a desired result to get themselves and their institutions rich. It's a circular cash-cow. They produce false results, everyone panics and says it's a coming disaster, money pours in to study it further, and they produce more false results to perpetuate the con.

Worst case it is a massive fraud, a global redistribution of wealth that is intended to socialize American and bring down our standard of living in order to perpetuate the communist idea of social justice.

Vested Interests Are The Enemy Of Science

In my 11/20/09 article titled The New Scientific Method: Remove The Data That Doesn't Support My Theories I talked about what is now being called "Climategate". The purposeful effort by climate change scientists to alter the data to suppport their preconceived theory.

This scandal is not going away, at least not in the blogosphere (you won't read anything about it in the main stream media), and I finally read a great article in the Wall Street Journal titled Climategate: Follow The Money. In that article (read it, it's short and to the point) was this fantastic quote regarding the organizations that receive ever increasing grants to study climate change because those very same organizations keep ringing the warning bell of climate change ever louder:

None of these outfits are per se corrupt, in the sense that the monies they get are spent on something other than their intended purposes. But they depend on an inherently corrupting premise, namely that the hypothesis on which their livelihood depends has in fact been proved. Absent that proof, everything they represent—including the thousands of jobs they provide—vanishes. This is what's known as a vested interest, and vested interests are an enemy of sound science.

Emphasis mine. I couldn't have said it better.

I Choose Life...Always!

When I read this week about Rom Houben I was saddened and angered because of what we did to Terri Shiavo. Who is Rom Houben and Terri Shiavo?

First Rom Houben. After a near fatal car crash he laid in a coma for 23 years, or so his doctors thought. In reality he was completely paralyzed yet completely awake. Let me say that again; his body was paralyzed, he couldn't move a muscle, not any muscle. Not a finger, not an eye lid, nothing. And at the same time he was completely conscious. He could hear all that was going on around him. When they opened his eye lids to examine him he could see all that was in front of him. Most horrid of all, he could think and speak to himself the whole time and was screaming to the doctors, nurses and visitors that he is awake! But no sounds came out. Now to Terri Shiavo. Terri collapsed in her home in February of 1990 and the result of her trauma was that she was left in what the doctors called a persistent vegetative state (PVS). After a short time her husband began the legal process of having her removed from "life support". In reality the machines that she was connected to helped her, but they were not required. Honestly without them there was a good chance complications could result and she could die, so they were used to avoid that. However, at the same time Terri's parents argued that based on observations they felt Terri was mentally conscious. Her parents opposed Terri's husband as he went through the various court proceedings to first have a do not resuscitate (DNR) order approved, have her removed from so-called life support (which was later rescinded) and finally, get this, have her feeding tube removed.

Terri's husband was her custodian and in charge of her care. Because Terri didn't have a living will there was nothing her parents could do without extraordinary actions by the courts. Terri's parents offered to take custody and to care for her, but her husband refused the offers.

So, after 7 years of legal battles our courts, aided by our culture of death, allowed the hospital to remove her feeding tube and in effect induce death through prolonged starvation and dehydration. Her death sentence took about 2 weeks to carry out.

Imagine IF she was in the same condition as Rom Houben? Watch this short video and look at the state Terri was in. Was she really brain dead? From what see she is in better shape than Mr. Houben!

And this comes on the heels of yesterday's article about the global warming god, um..ahh...errr, I mean "climate change" god Al "jaba the" Gore. He's so smart! I should just shut up and stop pointing out inconsistencies.

Well, today the internet is abuzz after a major global-warming advocacy center in the UK had its e-mail system hacked and the data published on line. Yes, uh-oh. Here are some quotes from those emails, but first I have to repeat myself YET AGAIN! Isn't the role of the scientist supposed be that they follow the data no matter where it leads? Scientists come up with a theory and then apply data (observations of reality) to either prove or disprove the theory. But that is no longer being done in regards to the lie of global warming, or evolution for that matter. Rather we have scientists who so buy into their theories that the reject any data that opposes it. THAT IS NOT SCIENCE!

A couple of quotes from the emails (emphasis is mine):

No science has ever stated that. Scientists estimate the very center of the earth to be about 10,000 degrees fahrenheit...TOPS. The core of the SUN is several million degrees.

And did you catch that...he sneaked in there "...and the surface of the earth is hot". Yes, just burning up! Must be because the multi-million degree core of the earth is melting us from the inside. Birdbrain.

It was in a speech two years before the fall of the wall given by President Ronald Reagan where he demanded "Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall!" Where do I start? It saddens me. I find it sad that people purposefully turn away from God and look to these people for help and guidance. I don't get it. He's the One who spoke into the chaos and gave it order. And it was good! He longs for us to trust Him. He knows best. Believe me I know this first hand. Just ask me sometime.

Halloween. Obama Style

This idea isn't originally mine, but I have vastly improved on the idea. Kinda like BASF.

I wish I thought of posting this before Halloween, but I will try and remember this for next year...unless net neutrality is in place. In that case, the government will have shut down my blog by then.

After your children return from trick or treating have them dump out their candy on a table or counter top in front of them:

1. Look to see if one of your children has more candy than the other child(ren). If this is the case take from the ones who have more and give it to the ones who have less. Explain to them that this is known as redistribution of wealth, oops I mean "candy", and it is better for everyone.

Note 1: The one with the most "candy" will probably complain. To overcome this explain to them sometimes change isn't easy. If they still complain simply point at them and in a loud voice yell "RACIST!"...No I mean call them a big fat meanie.

Note 2: The following Halloween it will not be unusual if one or more of your kids figure out it would be better if they just stay home and not go trick or treating at all. After all they will benefit off of their siblings who do go out and work..ah err....I mean "trick or treat" for it.

2. After the wealth, darn it! I mean the "candy" (sorry), is redistributed take 40% from the one who originally had the most and 20% from the other child(ren). If one of the children did not go trick or treating, do not take away anything, but rather give them 10% more from the 40%/20% you took, I mean "collected" from the other children. Explain to them that this is how fair taxation works.

Note 3: Most of the kids will not like this, especially the ones that did work..[pause]..I mean go out and trick or treat for it. If this happens simply stop talking to them and every time they complain punish them by taking away freedoms... ha, did I say freedoms? No, I meant "privileges".

Note 4: The child that did not go out and "trick or treat" and benefited from the work of the others will develop an undying devotion to you. They will worship you and sing songs about you. You can use them to stifle and intimidate the other citizens.....ummmm I mean "children".

3. Take the remaining wealth (darn it I did it again), I mean "candy" and use it for yourself as you see fit, but not in a way that your children benefit from. But rather in a way that will hurt them in the long run all in the name of "fairness".

Change The Culture, Change Everthing

When I started to read this article titled Italy, Vatican In Uproar Over Crucifix Ruling, I thought how odd. There is no way you can remove the displaying of the crucifix from Italian culture. What idiotic court made that ruling and why? Then I read this in the article:

The ruling by the court in Strasbourg said crucifixes on school walls could disturb children who were not Christians. Italy has been in the throes of national debate on how to deal with a growing population of immigrants, mostly Muslims.

Never one to give up the fight, I say do whatever you can to fight this for as long as possible. But in reality, the end is near; the European cultures have one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. And America, you're next. Watch the below video and it will explain it all. It starts a little slow, but stick with it; it is eye opening.

Read this article: Planned Parenthood Director Leaves, Has Change of Heart and be sure to watch the accompanying video as well.

While I think this woman's decision is the right one and I am very thankful for it, the report leaves me wanting more. From what I understand, the straw that broke the camels back was based on her not liking the new "business model" of Planned Parenthood. Because of the economic downturn, Planned Parenthood executives were de-emphasizing pregnancy prevention to one that encouraged abortion. I personally do not think that their business model was anything other than a "cha-ching" abortion mill, buuuuut that's just me.

Honestly I would have preferred it if her change of heart was in fact caused because she finally couldn't take being part of such a monstrous act, realizing that abortion was abhorrent and sinful. She did say that she felt like all of the guilt is gone, so she must have felt guilty over something. Was it the practice of abortion alone or the emphasis on the new business model? But I won't complain about what did it for her, I will celebrate the fact she saw the light.

One last observation; what was Planned Parenthood's reaction to this? They are suing her and issuing a restraining order! Something having to do with client confidentiality. Whatever.

I can add little commentary on this except that if you are a parent, please, PLEASE get involved with what the schools are teaching your children. I have no problem with schools giving a lesson in world religions and cultures, but come on. It is clear that when truth and balance are omitted, indoctrination is the goal. Why is this needed? Why would a school district adopt this curriculum? Why, when they see what the curriculum teaches do they NOT have an issue with it?

Why? When I think about the answer to that I remember a conversation I had via Face Book with a complete stranger. Maybe I'll post that conversation soon.

The Hype Was Caused by "Stupid" People

I've written extensively about how the fossil nicknamed "Ida" was not a fantastic new discovery of a "missing link" between earlier primates and humans.

Bottom line, the fossil of a lemur like creature was being hyped by a European museum that billed it as THE missing link and saying how this discovery would challenge everything we know about human evolution. Just so happens the hype would ensure lots of visitors to the museum and it just so happens the owners of the fossil produced a documentary about it and they stood to make tons of cash based on the hype.

Well, the scientific community finally is calling the fossil nothing more than an ancient lemur! Huh, just what I said it was months ago. You can read the article here, but you know what really pisses me off? The excuse that Dr. Seiffert, one of the scientists who studied the finding and came out to say it ain't all that, still defended the hype. He said this regarding how people came to the conclusion that this was so important (emphasis mine):

“The PR hype surrounding the Darwinius description was very confusing. The uninformed observer watching the associated documentary certainly must have come away with a very different view — specifically that Darwinius truly was a critically important link in the origin of higher primates, if not the origin of apes or even humans.

I view this kind of stuff to be sad more than I do as irritating. A new ad campaign will be launched in New York sponsored by the Big Apple Coalition of Reason. The posters will be placed in subway stations that read:

A million New Yorkers are good without God. Are You?

The meaning of the slogan is that their life is just fine without God so stop believing in Him. They just don't get it. I truly hope they will one day, just like I did. If only they would humble themselves and find out just how truly wonderful a life full of God really is.

One very interesting thing in the article; I have written in the past how in reality atheism is a religion. Many people say I'm stupid to say that. They tell me atheism is the opposite of religion. Oh really? To quote the article:

This video is of an interview with Dr. Richard Dawkins, author of the God Delusion and his most recent work The Greatest Show On Earth. Dawkins is the typical pro-evolution atheist elitist. I have no issue with his having taken a stance and doing a very good job of trying to convince people why his opinion is the correct one. It's just the way it's done and the arrogance.

Here are my notes (I paraphrase a lot of this) with comments in RED:

Dawkins, trying to assert that evolution is not a theory, but rather is fact says "If you stop thinking of it as a theory and start thinking of it as fact, it's a lot more believable" Really!? Am I the only one to see through that? So if I just stop thinking objectively then I'll see it your way.
Speaking of what evidence is most compelling to sway a person away from evolution as just being a theory and towards it being a fact he states "Comparing DNA between species you see an almost identical digital count that falls into a family tree. And if you look at it long enough you will be convinced" Again with the "if you look at it long enough" thing. If I look long enough at b.s. websites that say our landing on the moon was a fake, I might start to believe that too. Also, answer me this, how could random processes come up with 'digital' information anyway?
An interesting item; Dawkins compares those in America who do or do not believe in creationism to those who are for Palin or Obama. Uh huh..good analysis
When asked if he's concerned that his book The God Delusion offends creationists he states "Creationists don't read books anyway, except for one book. My books are aimed at the intelligent lay person who does read books..." You elitist arrogant jack-ass. That's a great way to stifle any meaningful debate on the issue. Just call someone with a differing opinion "stupid and closed minded". Kinda like calling those who don't agree with Obama "racists", Hmmmm

The New York Times says the following in regards to Dr. Francis Collins, the new Director of the National Institutes of Health.

First, there is the God issue. Dr. Collins believes in him. Passionately. And he preaches about his belief in churches and a best-selling book. For some presidential appointees, that might not be a problem, but many scientists view such outspoken religious commitment as a sign of mild dementia.

As I've said in the past I tend to stay away from the everyday political chatter, but this topic has to do with life. Which if you've read anything I written before you know I am staunchly pro-life.

Frankly I am pissed off at the deception by all politicians in Washington and by the "advisers" they rely on to help devise their schemes.

The current health care debate is just so full of deception. Listen to Robert Reich, former Labor Secretary under Bill Clinton, and current advisor to president Obama. This sums it up all too well. Believe me when I tell you this is exactly what a government run health plan will be. The president and all his cronies say one thing and they plan on doing the complete opposite.

Listen to the audio from a 2007 speech and pay close attention...here I'll help you:

The first part of the audio, Reich tells everyone that candidates for office only tell half truths and often tell us what their advisers tell them we need to hear.
He says he is going to run for president and I guess he said the first part as if to tell us he's not like other candidates, he's going to tell the truth. - Gee thanks
At the 0:45 mark he tells us we have the only health care system in the world set up to avoid sick people. He even affirms what he just said as being true. - I believe this is not true, but what the heck.
At the 0:57 mark he says he's going to change the health care system to make it more "amenable to treating sick people". - Thank you sir.
At 1:08 he says that young healthy people "you are going to have to pay more" - Understand he's saying this in 2007 and here we are in 2009 and the bills being presented force everyone to have insurance. Even if you are young and healthy, and you don't want it!
At 1:20 he says that if you are old we are not going to give you all the drugs you need or the technology needed to keep you alive for the last couple of years of your life, "It's too expensive so we're going to let you die" - My heart sank when I heard this. The evil of these people.
At the 1:35 mark he says he'll use the power of the federal government to force drug companies and medical equipment manufacturers to lower their costs. He goes on to say that he knows this will mean less innovation and less innovation means less new drugs and new products, which means you shouldn't expect to live much longer than your parents - I have no more words...

Before you listen to the audio, did you know that the presidents special adviser on science and technology, John Holdren, co-wrote a book called Global Climatic Disruption: Risks and Opportunities in which he describes some of the so called "opportunities" to avoid this global climatic disruption as forced sterilization for a majority of the population and mandatory abortions for unwed mothers who can't "take care" of their expected babies? Did you know that? NO! Then get off you fat frikkin a$$ and start paying attention because our country is being flushed down the toilet because people are more caught up in knowing what happened on JOHN AND KATE PLUS 8!!!

My God! The presidents staff is loaded with the most pro abortion, pro death people ever assembled. Not to mention the lunatics that HATE our way of life.

What is "Normal" Anymore?

More and more I question my ability to define "normal". More and more Americans simply ignoring the US Constitution thinking we live in a country that guarantees freedom FROM religion when it doesn't. There is rabid almost "religious" like protection of the environment, where small fish are protected yet we allow the murder of 4,000 unborn human babies every day.

If you want to see the complete dismantling of any kind of normality, just look to the appointments of president Obama. I won't go into all of the items, there are too many to list, but if you have some time, do a news search on Kevin Jennings, Cass Sunstein, Van Jones, Mark Lloyd and Harold Koh to name just a few. And that list doesn't even mention all of the cabinet members that had tax "issues".

Now I read an article about his nominee to head the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) Chai Feldblum. It is being reported that she signed a petition, a radical 2006 manifesto, which endorsed polygamous households and argued traditional marriage should not be privileged “above all others.”

This is something I speculated on when I wrote about why the defense of traditional marriage is so very important. The so called "same sex marriage" debate being waged by gays and lesbians has nothing to do with what concerns me. It is that once you change the definition of something to include other things that fall outside of what it really is, it then ceases to be anything. Once we include same sex couples within the definition of marriage all other kinds of freaky-deakies will come out of the wood work and what their "situation" to come under the same definition and be held up as normal marriage.

God, this place is maddening.

Moral Relativism and Hollywood

I've posted a video below of a perfect example of moral relativism. Moral relativism is the world view that right and wrong are not objective, but rather subjective depending on your point of view. As I've written in the past, the most popular slogan of the moral relativist these days when talking about terrorism is "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter". You see how it works? Murder isn't always wrong, it just depends on your perspective.

Maybe you've read in the news lately how Hollywood film maker Roman Polanski was arrested in Switzerland and is awaiting extradition to the US. in 1977 Polanski plead guilty to the charges of statutory rape and sodomy of a 13 year old girl. Polanski brought the girl to his home where he drugged her by giving her a Quaalude and some campaign and then had sex with her including sodomizing her. He plead guilty to this. BUT, before he was sentenced he fled the country and has been living abroad ever since. I won't go into all of the attempts by the US to get him back, but finally he was arrested and is now in Switzerland awaiting extradition. Good, right?

Well you would never know it if you paid attention to Hollywood. The LA Times front page story never mentions he plead guilty to the charge, but rather states over and over how he was only "accused" of the crime. Other film makes and movie types can now be seen wearing "Free Polanski" tags on their shirts. The most disgusting of conversations came from the mouth of Whoopi Goldberg, and upon hearing it made me write this article.

I am dumbfounded at how we think! When will this stop? Listen to Ms. Goldberg try and assert the argument that, well, it's not "rape-rape". WHAT!!? Also listen to how she says, that in many other countries young girls are not looked upon in the same way we do here and times are changing. If I were in that audience I would have exploded!!

In Memory: USS Conolly DD-979

I served aboard the USS Conolly DD-979, a Spruance class destroyer, from 1983-1985. She was sunk in a training exercise this past April 2009.

This picture was taken in 1984 after a complete overhaul at Bath Iron Works in Portland Maine. I was on board when this picture was taken.

I first came aboard while the ship was at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as a 2nd class Electronics Warfare Technician. She was my second ship to serve aboard. It was the height of the cold war and being in the Navy at that time was exciting. Us against the USSR, the high seas, playing cat and mouse. I was promoted to 1st class while on board.

Even though all of 1984 was spent in the ship yards, I made numerous deployments most notably circumnavigating South America, West Africa, 2 Med cruises (that's the Mediterranean for you land lubbers), Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf. On the Connoly I navigated the Panama canal and the Suez canal. I crossed the equator just west of Ecuador and once again crossed the equator at 0.00 and 0.00 off of the west coast of Africa.

If I were able to be board her today I would know my way around as if I never left her. She was good ship and I'm saddened at her end.

Ida Had Her 15 Minutes

I wrote two articles this past spring about the events that unfolded over the finding of THE missing link. A lemur like fossil known as 'Ida' was heralded in the media as the find that all of the Darwinian scientists have been looking for that link early mammals to humans. Magazines and newspapers ran it and showed all of the high-fiving going on. Wow.

Paleontologists claimed that this fossil equated to finding the holy grail. Ida so concretely upheld Darwinian evolution they named the species "Darwinius".

I'll dispense with a lot of my own commentary because today I read in Scientific American an article called Weak Link: Fossil Darwinius has It's 15 Minutes. I have to hand it to Kate Wong who wrote the article and Scientific American for printing it, even if it's only online. I'm not sure if they will place it in their magazine; I stopped subscribing to Scientific American in 1990.

Ms. Wong does a great job in this article. Even though Ms. Wong is clearly an evolutionist I applaud her calling out what is wrong with the supposed finding and the hype that followed. It worries me when scientists are not concerned with determining the truth of their findings, but rather used this as an opportunity to make money off of it even if they had to lie about the find.

9/11: Honoring Salvatore Gitto

For me to try and put into words an honorary for a man I didn't know, was a bit daunting. I am doing this because I came across a project called Project 2996. It's a project whereby bloggers offer to write about a 9/11 victim. There were 2,996 victims of evil that day.

I am honored to write about Salvatore Gitto. Sal, as he was known, was husband to wife Angela, and father to two sons, Stephen, and Gregory. He was 44 years old on 9/11/2001. Sal worked for the same company my brother worked for at that time, Marsh & McLennan.

Everything I've read about Sal speaks to his dedication to and love of his family. He himself was a pilot and enjoyed the thrill and beauty of flying. His tribute in the New York Times was titled "Spirit in the Sky". Reading through the many other memorial pages I read about the type of friend he was, from classmates and neighbors.They all speak of a fun loving man, one who enjoyed others and made them feel loved through his acts of kindness and his joyful spirit. I invite you to read some of these because my words cannot compare to those who knew him.

I pray for Angela, Stephen and Gregory Gitto. That God will give them peace and that His love will transcend the pain of their loss and the anger they must feel towards those responsible. The LORD says that vengeance is His. Give us the strength to trust in Your Word O God.

This kind of stuff makes me so mad I want to spit. Once again, it is a complete violation of the 1st amendment. I'll let you decide, but what right does the state have to make decisions like this? None; none whatsoever.

A New Hampshire court ordered a home-schooled Christian girl to attend a public school this week after a judge criticized the "rigidity" of her mother's religious views and said the 10-year-old needed to consider other worldviews as she matures.

A JUDGE? Making the decision that a child needs to consider other worldviews??!! This is crap. It is obvious this judge is using the power of the bench to dissuade someone from being a Christian. This is becoming more and more common. Christians are easy targets, so screw the Constitution.

The judge's finding says the course load, except for the Bible study, is similar to what public students get and the mother’s home schooling has “more than kept up with the academic requirements of the [local] school system”. The child also takes supplemental public school classes in art, Spanish, theater and physical education and is involved in extracurricular sports such as gymnastics, horseback riding, softball and basketball. (emphasis mine).

I hope this goes to the Supreme Court.

More Steps Forward Regarding Dinosaur Soft Tissue

I've written a few articles on the astonishing discoveries made by scientists recently where soft tissue is being found in dinosaur fossils. I've stated that that there is no way soft tissue can survive tens of millions of years and remain what would be classified as soft.

Now a peer review of these discoveries by the Royal Society of Biological Sciences has published a very interesting take on the situation called Preservation of Key Biomolecules In The Fossil Record: Current Knowledge And Future Challenges. It's a short abstract, but in case it's a bit dry, let me translate:

This is old news to me, but the article was brought to my attention, so I wanted to write about this topic again.

The Appendix: Useful And In Fact Promising

Regarding vestigial organs; the list used to contain dozens of organs and body parts, but over time, as scientists actually did their job, many have been reclassified and have been removed from the list. That in itself should motivate scientists to carry out the proper method of scientific inquiry! Even though this article is written by pro-evolutionists as made evident by the exclamation "we're not saying that Darwinian evolution is wrong", it goes a long way to show how scientists operate.

The violation that many pro Darwinian evolution scientists make is that whenever they can't explain something, they immediately define a cause that fits their preconceived theories BEFORE they complete all their observation and experimentation. As with vestigial organs; if they don't know what the purpose of the appendix is, they automatically classify it as a remnant of our evolutionary past. This was true with tonsils, adenoids, lymphatic glands, and many other organs.

Respectable science, when faced with an unanswered phenomena, should say "We don't know the purpose of this is or why it behaves the way it does, but with further observation we hope to discover the truth in time". I can respect that position. But instead they immediately apply ridiculous causes like chance or simply throw it in the category of "evolutionary remnant". To me that's scientific malpractice and at a minimum supreme arrogance.

Speaking With A Forked Tongue - "Free Abortions For Everyone"

Have you noticed the counter on the side bar of my blog. At the time of this posting it is nearing 45,000,000 abortions since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.

Now the debate in our land is over the President's Heathcare Reform. Lots to worry about, but one of the many debated points on this legislation is whether the public option will include tax payer provided abortion services. The President claims it doesn't, but notice his double speak. In trying to promote his plan he spoke to a gathering of religious leaders, albeit, very liberal religious leaders.

In a late Wednesday conference call with several faith groups that supported his presidential bid, President Barack Obama claimed it is a “fabrication” and “distraction” to say abortion funding is included in the health care reform plans pending in Congress. He said it is false to suggest that the government-run health care plan he favors would result in “government funding of abortions,” and that this is “untrue.” - Associated Press

Notice the President said the government-run health care plan he favors wouldn't support government funding for abortions. Sure. He says that as if to say, I am not in favor of it, but if the version that comes to my desk has it in it... what? Will he sign it, or won't he sign it? What do you think?

First of all our government already uses our tax money to fund abortions both here and abroad. One of the first Presidential actions was to reverse the Mexico City Accord which in doing so now allows US funds to be used for abortions overseas. Our government already subsidizes Planned Parenthood the largest for profit abortion provider in the nation. So what do you think? Is the President telling the truth? Let's listen to Mr. Obama's own words and thanks to the group who put this together for providing explanations on screen to translate the double talk.

Did you hear how he also wants to force private insurers to provide abortion services just like the government plan will. This is just like his disdain for doctors who refuse to provide abortions or pharmacists who won't dispense "morning after" pills for reasons of conscience. He could care less.

T. Rex Soft Tissue Is Real

This is an update to a discovery I've been following, and it is as a win-win for me. I've written a few articles on this so click on this link to be brought to one, which also contains links to other similar articles.

Here is a quick run down. Back in 2007 a discovery was made of a T. Rex fossil that contained soft tissue. The problem is that modern science believes that T. Rex died off some 68 million years ago and so that creates a problem. The problem is that scientists know that over millions of years no soft tissue can survive the fossilization process. The sedimentary rock encasing the fossil might allow for survival of soft tissue, but only for several thousands of years, not millions. I agree with that logic and so, based on the finding the scientists must make a decision. Either adjust the current theoretical understanding of the ages these dinosaurs were alive, or show that there are errors in the discovery of the soft tissue. Guess which direction most scientists decided to take? Right! First instinct is to protect the theory they have backed and in which they have upheld as true. Can't say I blame them.

But the good news is that after third party study and verification, it has been found that in fact the soft tissue is real. CHA-CHING! Read: Re-examination of T. Rex Verifies Disputed Biochemical Remains.

As I always say I am for good science. Allow the truth to be known and let it take us where ever it takes us. Based on current understanding no soft tissue can survive the fossilization process for millions of years. When soft tissue is found you either have to adjust the current theory to allow for a younger earth or show how organic material can survive longer periods. The problem is that there is no known process that can extend the survival rate of soft tissue from a few thousand years to 68 million! Why not just be humble and say that based on the current finding adjustments in the current theories need to be made. How about because of ego and fear.

Folks, I don't care if you call me crazy or stupid. Our earth is much younger than what modern science thinks.

I haven't written much on this whole Government take over of health care. I try to focus on issues of freedom of religion and pro-life. I guess I didn't look deep enough.

It's only a matter of time really. When a government like ours controls your health care it also will do it's best to pigeon hole you into making decisions that are right for government, not for you. For those of you that voted all of this stuff in, I hope and pray you do a better job of keeping track of what is going on.

Gobsmacked, meaning dumbfounded. They can't explain it! Meaning they are finding it real hard to force the facts to fit their preconceived assumptions. Huh, imagine that. We must find a way to make the evidence fit the "FACT" that this fossil is 66 million years old, even though it still contains soft tissue and we know that's impossible.

What Happened to Teaching The 3 "R's"?

I just read this article from New York's Channel 2 website titled N.Y. High School To Provide Pregnancy, STD Testing. I would like to know your thoughts on it. As for me I have to wonder why would we want our public schools involved in this?

The article states that they hand out contraception and perform pregnancy and STD testing and are completely confidential - No discussing with the parents. The lone vote against having this at the school was the school board president. But those who voted for it said:

"..this is just the reality of taking care of students in today's world. I think this is progressive and I see this as a positive."

What? The reality of taking care of kids in today's world?! Yeah, a world created and promoted by these very same liberal thinkers and now costing tax payers to provide contraception and pregnancy testing...oh but lets not tell the parents! And the cost doesn't even account for the results; STD treatments, councelling, abortions, and on and on.

Honestly it really doesn't matter. From my point of view, American parents prefer that the state be in charge of raising their kids. These parents are lazy, uninformed, morons. They are only concerned with their own personal comfort and could care less about what their kids are actually learning about life, morality, truth, justice, mercy, hard work and equity. These are the same parents who want the government to provide for them.

And the public schools, who you have to admit are very liberal institutions, are more than happy to provide the service. They want to raise your kids. They want to teach them their liberal, progressive, atheistic ideology. It ensures future votes for their way.

At times I wonder how any parent who cares about their kids would ever subject them to public schools. But you know what? I've seen kids come out of public schools that know right from wrong, who can think for themselves and know about absolute truth. Why is this? IT'S BECAUSE THEIR PARENTS RAISED THEM!!!!!! They didn't leave it up to the schools, or the government, or the video game manufacturers, or the music industry, or any other corporation.

A Culture of Death

The more I see the more disappointed I get. My ultimate faith is in Jesus, so while our wayward path is upsetting to me and causes me to stand up for the things of God, our continued decent into this culture of death does not cause me to want to give up.

People who say they are Christian yet do everything they can to support and promote abortion may be fooling themselves and some of the people, but not everyone and certainly not God. I've asked this before; if you call yourself "Christian", what do you think God's attitude toward abortion is? Does He like it?

President Obama's answer to Pastor Rick Warren when asked about if abortion was wrong, answered that the answer was above his paygrade. Rick Warren's followup should have been something like, if it's above your paygrade then that means there is a 50/50 chance you believe in God's eyes abortion is wrong. Then why err on the side of death? Disappointingly the Pastor didn't go anywhere with that

I continue to point out that what counts is ones "walk" not just their talk that tells where a person stands. Mr. Obama has never once voted for any form of restriction to abortion. His record:

Has voted for legalizing the late term procedure known as "Partial Birth Abortion"
Is in favor of embryonic stem cell research
Re-instituted funding for abortions in other countries (The Mexico City Accord)
Promises to pass the Freedom of Choice Act which will in effect remove all States laws that restrict abortions such as parental notifications, late term, etc.
Is against allowing doctors, nurses and pharmacists from not performing abortions or distributing oral contraceptives due to conscience.
Looks to his massive health care overhaul bill to further expand the practise of abortion throughout our land

In a recent interview with the New York Times, Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg candidly shared: “Frankly, I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.”
Hillary Clinton was recently given an award by Planned Parenthood (The largest for profit company in the abortion industry), in which Mrs. Clinton stated during her acceptance “The 20th-century reproductive-rights movement, really embodied in the life and leadership of Margaret Sanger, was one of the most transformational in the entire history of the human race.” In a 1921 article, Sanger explained: “The most urgent problem today is how to limit and discourage the over-fertility of the mentally and physically defective.”

Did you catch that! One of our Supreme Court justices said that when she voted in favor of Roe v. Wade, she thought she was voting for a way to reduce the amount of undesirables in our society. Don't believe me? Here is the article in the New York Times Magazine. Where was the outrage! And Mrs. Clinton is not ever phased by glorifying Margaret Sanger who, like Justice Ginsberg, is in favor of Eugenics. I am going on the record to say that our President is in the same camp, as is the speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (who's a professing Catholic) and Senate Majority leader Harry Reid (who states he is pro-life).

Their walk doesn't equal their talk. Their yes means no, and their no means yes.

I am providing this on my blog for people who do not follow me on Facebook, also because it’s just too many words. While on my blog read some of the articles I’ve written and comment!!!! Readers and comments motivate me.

Here is the saga of my work department’s day of “Team Building”

About a week ago my boss announced a half day of “team building”. No query of what we would be doing, the decision was made. We were going to play golf! Right away I thought to myself who would want to go back to work after a morning of golf? Silly me, we weren’t going to start first thing in the morning. Nooooo. Tee time? 1:00 pm in the afternoon….in July….in Texas. It’s been over 100 degrees practically every day for the last 3 weeks or so, and it aint a dry heat folks.

I raised my hand and said “I vote for bowling”. All the macho golfer blowhards looked at me like I just blasphemed. I didn’t know golf was so popular among my colleagues, so what could I do. I mean hey, being out of the office can’t be all that bad, right?

I’d like to pause to thank all those who followed my updates on Facebook, especially Sheri Coulter, you made it fun! Thanks.

So this morning I did some work from home and left the house at about 11:15. I needed to stop by Walmart and buy some golf balls and tees. I arrived at the course at about 12:00 noon. Some others were also just arriving so we milled around until everyone got there. I don’t have golf clubs so I had to rent them.

Doodaloo-doodaloo-doodaloo ----this is the going back in time sequence….In 1984 I played my last serious attempt at golf and ended up throwing my clubs in a pond. You might find them somewhere on the golf course in Portland, Maine.

Anyway, back to me going to get my club rentals which my boss graciously reserved for me. That is when I think the farce of this whole “team building” idea was revealed. Now my attempt at a Master Card commercial:

Golf balls and Tees at Walmart - $10.50
Club Rental - $27
Greens Fees and cart rental - $55
Finding out your cheap a$$ boss made you pay $92.50 for a mandatory day of “team building” in hell – PRICELESS.

Can you believe that? I thought this was a company sponsored day of “team building”!

The next big surprise was who I got teamed up with. One guy from our office, who I’ll call The Big-A (the A doesn’t stand for what you might be thinking. His name starts with A) and two other guys who work for one of our vendors. The Big-A happens to work daily with these guys so I was kinda the odd man out right from the start. But no biggie, right? Wrong. These guys are “serious” golfers, and the first thing they asked me after introductions was, “So, how often do you get out?” obviously meaning how often do I get out to play golf. I answered, “Well…on average….each month? I’d say zero point zero-zero-zero-zero-zero-zero-zero-zero-zero-zero [pause for thinking] zero-zero-zero-zero…..zero-two times per month.”

At the first hole The Big-A tees up at the “Pro” tee. You see there are different spots to tee up your ball on each hole. The black tee is the pro tee, the blue is the standard tee the white is the women’s tee (I may have gotten the other two colors wrong so I’m admitting that now for all you “serious” golfers out there). I get ready to tee off second so I tee up on the black tee. The Big-A and the two other “serious” golfers, start convincing me to tee off from the blue tee, not the precious black tee. When I ask why, the Big-A answers, “Well I shoot in the 70s.” Is that actually an answer? Whatever, I go to the blue tee, and shank it. I could hear them grumbling behind me.

Holes 2 through 9 are pretty much the same and the heat, oh my! I am slathered with sun block, and by hole #9 I have drunk 2 liters of water and have not had any hint of needing to go pee. It’s like 178 degrees out, but I am determined.

Now to a couple of things The Big-A did.

#1 - As we were approaching the 9th hole, The Big-A called the boss who was a few holes behind us. Now understand I’m IN the golf cart with The Big-A. Here is the exchange:

The Big-A: Hi boss, how’s your game?
The Boss: Oh not too bad. What’s up?
The Big-A: Uh-huh. Hey if you want to skip a few holes meet us at the 9th and you and Ed can swap teams.
The Boss: No that’s ok.
The Big-A: Ok see you in the bar. (hangs up phone) [pause] The Big-A says nothing.
Ed: (looking right at The Big-A) Yah, none taken.

#2 – The “serious” golfers are getting upset with me because I insist on playing every hole and taking as many shots as it takes to get the ball to go in that little hole. The Big-A, in a moment of obvious compassion, tells the other two “serious” golfers (again with me standing right there among them!) that at the 14th hole he’s going to swing by the clubhouse and drop me off because obviously I am tired. That actually made me slightly mad. I responded by telling The Big-A to keep his yap shut because he doesn’t speak for me. I’m playing every hole and taking as many shots as I can get for my $93 of hell golf. Now hit the ball.

Funny things that happened:

A squirrel tried to hump my golf ball.

On the 12th hole I hit a drive and it ricocheted off a tree and landed on the green….the green of the 13th hole.

I hit a 350 yard drive! It went 328 yards straight up and landed 22 yards in front of me.

While the Big-A was taking a shot I poured some water on his seat in the golf cart. He didn’t know and I kept chuckling at the wet spot on his rump.

I took 7 shots to try and get out of one of those sand things that the “serious” golfers call bunkers or sand traps. I took big whacks with sand flying all over the place. The funny thing about it was that the Big-A told me how I could break a club by hitting the sand so hard. That’s when I told him I was using HIS sand wedge because my rentals didn’t come with one.

That’s about it. Golf isn’t my game, but life is. I love life and I love God. Thank you God for my life.

Religion and the First Amendment

I'm yelling at the TV again. On this mornings news they are talking about an atheist group who has filed a law suit to keep an engraving of the words In God We Trust off of the entrance to the new Washington DC Capitol Visitors Center. The news casters talked about how they think this type of thing is ridiculous, which I am glad to hear. They also interviewed people on the street whose opinion varied; some for and some against.

The issue I have are the reasons people gave for wanting or not wanting it there. Some of the reasons given were 1) It's our national motto, 2) It's on our money, 3) America's history was clearly built on Judeo-Christian principles. All ok reasons, but none authoritative.

It's funny that the name of the Atheist group that has filed this law suit, along with other law suits seeking to ban the word God from the pledge of allegiance and banning the national day of prayer, is called The Freedom From Religion Foundation, emphasis on the word From.

I yelled at the TV asking someone to please quote the first amendment to our US Constitution!!! The first amendment guarantees us freedom OF religion, not freedom from it. What is wrong with this country? I've written about this in my post I Want Freedom Of Religion.

The show's host asked him what he thought about the law suit and he said "It doesn't matter to him. He'd be ok with it saying "In Rainbows We Trust".

The Pit of Redefinition

It is amazing how people think. If we don't like what something stands for we simply think we can change it and yet call it the same thing. Marriage is one of the things in hot debate these days that fall into that category. As I've written about in my articles, I believe marriage is defined as something and that something cannot change simply because people want it to be something else. Once you change the definition of something, in this case marriage, it becomes something else. It ceases to be what it was.

I just read an article in Newsweek that is yet another example of how people think that is what they can do. The article titled "Why Barack Obama Represents American Catholics Better Than The Pope Does" should, I hope, anger Catholics. If not anger them, then I hope it at least makes them take a step back and assess what that says about them.

Think about it; who is the head of the Church? Not the pope, it is in fact Jesus Christ Himself. But, for Catholics, the Pope is the representative of Jesus here on earth. That is why the Pope is called the Vicar of Christ; Vicar means representative. Thus Catholics believe the Pope speaks to us for Christ; or at least they are supposed to think that.

So when American Catholics say they don't agree with the Pope's position on pro-life issues such as abortion, embryonic stem cell research and birth control, on family issues such a same sex marriage, and on the various moral positions of the church, they are in fact defying the position of Christ Himself. (That is so long as the Pope's position aligns with Christ and is a very good reason all believers need to study the Bible. But that's another argument for another day.)

So what do people, in this case so-called Catholics, do? They redefine Catholicism to be what they want it to be, and at the same time keep calling themselves "catholic". Where is the Church leadership to say "No!". If the Pope says Catholicism mean standing up for A, B and C, and standing against X, Y and Z, then that is how it is. Anyone who does not profess to these things, as a majority of their belief system, at some point must cease to be a Catholic. It's not the other way around where right believing actual real Catholics have to put up with an altered version of the Truth! No!!

I completely understand if someone within the Church questions why the Church stands for some things and stands against other things. Constructive debate and education to determine the "why's and what for's" is reasonable and healthy. But to claim that Obama represents American Catholics better than the Pope, when the totality of Barack Obama's viewes stand in direct opposition to that of the Church is a heresy against Christ Himself! Church leaders should deny those who do not align themselves with the beliefs of the Church from taking part in the blessings of the Church.

Who is your Lord? Jesus Christ Himself or some idol who tickles your ears with what you want to hear? Do you love the things that Jesus loves or do you look to people like Barack Obama who make you feel less guilty for loving things that Christ Himself hates. Chose carefully because your decision has eternal consequences.

Sigh....Abortion Parties

I came across this article and honestly I am experiencing a range of emotions; disgust, sadness, a feeling of losing control of our senses. How far have we fallen? Can we ever recover from this?

The article was written to ask the question about what is the role of the male when deciding to have an abortion. But I read the article through the eyes of a person who values life and believes that abortion is the purposeful taking of a human life; in other words abortion is murder.

This indoctrination goes on in more places than we all know. I didn't write about it, but I've been reading articles about mandatory lessons in California public elementary schools that indoctrinate children to the homosexual lifestyle. Notice one thing in the article, the very last line where it says "....there are no boundaries". Remember what I've written before? The god of these people is called Autonomy. And this god says "It's all about me. I want to do what I want to do and you can't stop me and I will work to change the minds of more and more people everyday until one day what I am doing is no longer considered wrong; it will be welcomed and you'll be in the minority then."

More Scientific Backtracking

I remember back in the mid 80s I really became a paleontology buff and that is when I first read about the link between dinosaurs evolving into modern birds. I thought that was the coolest thing. I also can remember that being a theme throughout the 1993 movie Jurassic Park. The character of Dr. Grant, played by Sam Neil, was a leading expert on the subject. I remember how in the last scene in the movie, after all the chaos and excitement, as they flew off of the Island Dr. Neil looked out the window of the helicopter and saw a flock of pelicans flying along with them. OOOOoooo!

What a bunch of hooey. That was then. Now, if you've spent anytime reading some of the science related articles I've written, you know I am not in that camp any more.

I just read an article that, alas, has scientists rethinking that "theory". The article called Discovery Raises New Doubts About Dinosaur-Bird Links shows just how far from the truth scientists can be led all because they want the data to fit nicely into their preconceived agenda, and when it doesn't, who cares. A couple of notes:

When you link over to the article notice the section that is called Related Stories, it's about half way down the page on the right. It lists past articles like Velociraptor Had Feathers and Dinosaur Smelling Skills Opens New Chapter on Bird Evolution.
How many High School text books now need to be edited? In actuality, when it comes to biology, every year the data changes so much that the previous years text book is already outdated.

All you have to do is read some of the articles I've written filed under Science in my blog and you will see that I want science to follow the evidence where ever it leads. Isn't science defined as the search for truth?

Interestingly I just read an article that states One in seven scientists say colleagues fake data.

It comes as no surprise to me. I wrote an article called Go Where The Science Leads? Not In Science!, because I know that most scientists, at least the ones who are trying to get published, or get ahead, must be the one to make the next big discovery. So what they do is predetermine exactly what the next big discovery needs to be and then set out to prove it. If the data doesn't fit, who cares, make it fit. Why? Because these people are not interested in Truth, they are only interested in themselves. They long for notoriety, awards and accolades. This is true both at the individual level and at the institutional level. The more notoriety, the more money. Higher salaries, book deals, speaking tours. Universities that hire these people as professors can charge higher tuition, and on and on it goes.

And if someone comes along and challenges the system, forget it. You are black-listed. You will never get published, never be hired to speak, and you'll languish in a low level lab job while earning the condemnation of your peers. Academia is full of some of the most egotistical people I've ever met.

The Murder of George Tiller

It's been a few days since Dr. George Tiller was murdered and I held off writing anything right away so I can digest some of the news. In a sort of twist of fate another murder took place the very next day when Pvt. William Long was shot to death outside of a Little Rock, AK Army recruiting station.

First Dr. Tiller. He's been an enemy of pro-lifers for a long time. He was one of only three Doctors in the US who performed late term partial birth abortions, usually on pre-born babies over 21 weeks old, no medical issues and fully viable. To see how this practice is carries out, click this link to see my previous post called Here We Go. It is reported that Dr. Tiller had aborted some 63,000 babies in his career.

I got into an heated discussion on a Facebook group with Christians who said they felt that Dr. Tiller deserved to be killed and his killing was the judgment of God. I completely disagree with that thinking and believe it lowers those who think that to the level of an abortionist. I understand if someone is glad that Dr. Tiller can no longer perform abortions, but there is no way any Christian can justify the murder of Dr. Tiller as a good thing.

Now to Pvt. William Long, murdered in cold blood by a convert to Islam. Truly a tragedy. But I found it odd how our President commented on the two incidents. The President immediately issued a statement about Dr. Tiller, but took a three days before he issued a statement about Pvt. Long. Remember the President is Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. Notice the difference in language and tell me what he is most aligned with.

I am shocked and outraged by the murder of Dr. George Tiller as he attended church services this morning. However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence.

I am deeply saddened by this senseless act of violence against two brave young soldiers who were doing their part to strengthen our armed forces and keep our country safe. I would like to wish Quinton Ezeagwula a speedy recovery, and to offer my condolences and prayers to William Long’s family as they mourn the loss of their son.

In keeping with the Obama administration’s passive language, such as the euphemisms “overseas contingency operation” or “man-caused disaster”, Obama’s statement on the murder of Pvt. William A. Long is just as passive in voice and blame. He’s not outraged, he’s saddened. Not by someone who committed a “heinous act” but rather by a senseless violence. It might have been a bolt of lightning for all the pushback Obama has to share.

He waits three days and then the best he can muster is an abstract sadness at something that, judging by his statement, might well have been a mere accident of fate…

The Logic Cop Says It's a Human Baby

Back when the Presidential campaign was in full swing, both Barak Obama and John McCain took part in the Saddleback Civil Forum on the Presidency. During that forum candidate Obama was asked “When does a baby get human rights?” His answer was:

Well, you know, I think that whether you’re looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity, you know, is above my pay grade.

What does pay grade have to do with the facts?

President Obama recently stated during his speech at Notre Dame "I do not suggest that the debate surrounding abortion can or should go away.” He is right; this controversy should not be shoved aside. It is a life-and-death matter and someone is wrong about it. That is something everyone should think about, one side of this debate is wrong; but who?

Think about the logic pro-abortionists use to justify their position. That life doesn't start until the fetus is "viable". Early on it is just a mass of cells, not a human. They also hide behind the more socially acceptable title of "pro-choice", rather than calling them selves exactly what they are "pro-death". After all death is the opposite of life, so pro-death is a more accurate description.

I've stated very clearly in the past that if you consider yourself "pro-choice", you are in the same camp as a pro-abortionist, so lets start the debate there. If you are pro-choice, what are you choosing between? You are choosing between eliminating something or keeping something.

The next question is: eliminate what? Is this “thing” an “inert globule of organic matter”, a zygote, a blastocyst, an embryo, or a fetus? These are terms employed to describe different stages of gestational development. But do they define whether the “it” is human or non-human? It must be one or the other. This is like using the words “baby,” “child,” “teen,” “adult,” and “senior.” Do these expressions refer to humans or non-humans?

Let’s think about this issue from a coldly logical vantage point. Upon what core issues can all sides agree? (1) When a male sperm and a female egg unite, something happens. Something is henceforth there. (2) That something either is living or non-living. Is there a third option? Clearly it is living. It takes nourishment and receives oxygen. It exhibits movement. It undergoes cell replication. This is undeniable. (3) This living thing either is human or non-human. DNA analysis will clearly identify it as human; 100% of the time. If it were identified as non-human, say it were determined to be an avocado or a duck, then it may be eliminated at any time, at any stage, and for any purpose. We take the lives of plants and animals, to be used for a higher good, without hesitation. The assumption of civilized society always has been, however, that human life constitutes an entirely different category.

Therefore by logical examination this "thing" that is being taken is a living human and one must agree that abortion is the taking of a human life.

The president clearly believes and supports the theory that the lives of pre-born infants are subject to the choices of society’s democratic process. He obviously chooses not to believe that a living human being is purposefully killed in the abortion procedure.

Since this is the case, why does he call for us to “reduce the number of women seeking abortions”? What’s wrong with this logic?

Same Story Different Day

It's funny, it's sad...no, it's funny. So many people educated beyond their intelligence. As I reported in a piece called "Ida" Don't Know, the latest fossil to be dubbed as the missing link is an ancient lemur like animal. The problem is that science is so focused on proving to the world that a missing link exists, they forget how many times in the past they made the same claim only to see it become a dead end, or worse, a fraud. Here is a list of sciences greatest misses:

Every argument used to validate evolution in the famous 1925 Scopes trial was later proven fallacious, and none of them are used today by knowledgeable people.
Remember vestigial organs? All supposedly “vestigial” organs are now known to be functional and useful.
The Piltdown man turned out to be a fraud.
Embryonic recapitulation—made popular by a series of manipulated drawings by Ernst Haeckel—has been thoroughly refuted by embryology.
Ramapithecus was once considered “the link,” but it was determined to be nothing more than an extinct orangutan-like creature.
Homo habilis has likewise outlived its celebrity status. The majority of paleontologists who recognize that it is really just a collection of both ape and human skull fragments are too uncomfortable to present it as a transitional form in textbooks.
Peppered moths and Darwin’s finches remain the same moths and finches.
Archaeopteryx was just a bird.

Ida is following the same as her predecessors. She has been promoted as a “missing link” with widespread media hype. After further study, however, this claim will be quietly rescinded. The most damaging result of this backward publish the story first and ask scientific questions later routine is that evolution is promoted whether or not the discovery provides any evidence to support it. This is not the way ideal science is conducted—it’s closer to propaganda.

Is The Abortion Debate Changing?

I read an article in the Denver Post by David Harsanyi titled "Harsanyi: Abortion Debate Changing". I've read some of his articles before because, as he states up front in this article, he's an atheist, is secular and practices moral relativism. So, he provide very good insight into the world view of a person like that and the logic they use to make their agrgument.

This article is very good because he uses very concrete real reasons for oposing abortion. Most pro-abortionists and pro-choicers if they would take the time to think their position through to it's logical end would see that what they support and why they support it has many contradictions.

I'll close with a quote from super model Kathy Ireland which I wrote about in an article called Abortion: Open Mindedness and Reasonable Thinking. In that article the pro-choice Ms. Ireland reversed her position and chose to be pro-life through careful examination of the issue. In her investigation she was confronted by the "is a fetus a human being?" question,

Ireland admitted that she did everything she could to avoid becoming a believer in pro-life. "I called Planned Parenthood and begged them to give me their best argument and all they could come up with that it is really just a clump of cells and if you get it early enough it doesn’t even look like a baby. Well, we’re all clumps of cells and the unborn does not look like a baby the same way the baby does not look like a teenager, a teenager does not look like a senior citizen. That unborn baby looks exactly the way human beings are supposed to look at that stage of development. It doesn’t suddenly become a human being at a certain point in time.

"Ida" Don't Know

I've seen a lot of media hype about the fossil of an ancient monkey known as "Ida". The reports are that this is definitive proof of a transitional species showing that modern man evolved from earlier primates. As the link to an article states, we've heard this before. Wild hype about a historic discovery and then after further examination it turns out to nothing new. The news about the actual truth of the discovery gets buried. Ego.

After watching that I would bet that the military would punish those that the video clearly shows violating Army rules, and who also risk the delicate balance of relations we have worked so hard to achieve in that country.

Obama's Speech at Notre Dame

So many thoughts...none make me feel less anxious.

I am really beginning to fear where our country will be in fours years, or perhaps after eight if he is elected to second term. He has commanded such a loyal following of the blind. It comes down to people not caring about right or wrong any more, but if Mr. Obama says it, it must be right.

I could write a lot about some of the things he said in his speech, but I'll restrict it to only two, plus a couple of links to two articles I've read so far today.

Two quotes with my comments:

"Maybe we won't agree on abortion, but we can still agree that this heart-wrenching decision for any woman is not made casually, it has both moral and spiritual dimensions" - Tell me Mr. President, exactly how much deciding, heart-wrenching or otherwise, does it take to make that which is wrong, right?

"So let us work together to reduce the number of women seeking abortions..." - Mr President, we are men of action; lies do not become us and you making it look like you are willing to reduce the number of women seeking abortions is an outright lie. You have had numerous opportunities in your political career to do just that and every time, 100%, you have always voted against any kind of restrictions and voted for removing restriction. You vowed to pass the Freedom of Choice Act, which does just that; it removes all state imposed restrictions on abortion, things like parental notification (wouldn't that stand to reduce some abortions?). You voted against the Infant Born Alive Act which would require doctors to administer life saving medical attention to a baby born alive due to a botched abortion. Sir, you are a liar and a deceiver.

I post this stuff, but honestly am amazed by how it defies logic. Honestly.

The article Chemists see first building blocks to life on Earth, is yet another glimpse at how science works so hard to 'wrench' data to fit an already pre-decided result. In the article US molecular biologist Jack Szostak hailed the research saying

It will stand for years as one of the great advances in prebiotic chemistry

Read the article and see if you think what they are doing deserves this praise. Speaking of the three base chemicals that form an RNA strand, one very good objection written in the article states

...doubters have been comforted by the failure to find any feasible chain of chemical events to explain how the three components all came together.

I just found another article on this same subject, but the title is much better: Molecules of Life Emerges From Laboratory Slime.

Review what I've written in the past about this in an article called Upside-Down and Backwards and then tell me if all of this experimenting of trying to recreate the primordial soup and zapping it with electricity, then heating it and cooling it and finding some chemicals joined together can account for THE VOLUMES OF GENETIC INFORMATION CONTAINED IN OUR RNA AND DNA!!!

Honestly, if take some chemicals and zap it with electricity, heat it and then cool it I get lime flavored Jello. When you see Jello do you think it got on the cafeteria line by way of the blind forces of chance? It just appeared there without the assistance of the cook?

Follow The Evidence

I wrote a number of weeks back about how a hiker in Australia came upon grove of trees that were thought to be extinct. It was likened to finding a living dinosaur.

Today I read about yet another discovery of a dinosaur fossil found with soft tissue intact. Two T-Rex fossils had been found previously, this time it's a Hadrosaur and the tissue includes blood cells and collagen.

While I find it amazing, especially because these discoveries are being made by typically pro-evolution scientists; for me it begs another question. Strict creationists, like myself, believe the earth is only several thousand years old. Evolutionists state that the earth is 4.5 billion of years old and the first microbial life appeared some 3.5 billion years ago. My question is why such a large delta between the two camps conclusion in the age of earth and of the first life? I'm going to start reading........

For the life of me I cannot understand the rational behind being pro-abortion or even pro-choice. I know my saying that seems odd. I understand how odd it sounds because I used to be pro-choice. So, in an attempt to provide understanding, I honestly believe one can only be pro-abortion if you have elevated yourself to be a god. And I think you can only be pro-choice if you have your head in the sand and refuse to really understand what this is all about.

UPDATED: I Am a Recovering Liberal Democrat

I came across this article and as I read it, I thought how similar it is to my story. My conversion started in 1999-2000 time frame, but I actually made the leap in 2002.

I turned 18 in 1978 and honestly I can’t remember what election year was my first time to vote. I can tell you that when I did begin to vote it was for Democrats. Why was that? I’m not sure other than my parents were generally politically uninformed, we were CINO’s (Catholics In Name Only), and originally from Massachusetts. If asked what party I align myself with I would have told you that I don’t (didn’t) vote along party lines, I “vote for the person not the party”. When in reality if you looked at the actual “persons” I voted for…they were all Democrats.

In 1999 the presidential campaign was well underway and the democrats I followed were Al Gore and Howard Dean. I started souring on Dean because he sort of seemed arrogant, so Gore was my man. Time for Confession: If you had asked me why I liked Al Gore over all other candidates and including why I thought he was better that George Bush, I would have answered because I thought he was smarter. Yes, that was my reason for voting for Al Gore. There was no substance behind my choice, I didn’t choose because I determined what issues were most important to me. Nope, I liked him because he was “smarter”. Not my proudest moment.

I voted for Gore in that election and, well Bush was elected in a historic set of events in Florida. You remember the hanging chads and all.

Then in 2002 came the Governor’s race in Massachusetts, where I was living at the time. It was Mitt Romney on the Republican ticket and State Treasurer Shannon O’Brien on the Democrat ticket. Now 42 years old I decided for the first time to actually pay attention to what the issues were and decide on a candidate who best matches what I most strongly believe in. What I found was a Democratic candidate that didn’t care to have a substantive debate, but sort of matched the arrogance I saw previously in Howard Dean. An attitude that oozed elitism and well, made me want to take a shower after hearing her speak. The attitude that came across from Ms. O’Brien was if you align with my thoughts you are a progressive thinker, and if you disagree with me I will simply tear you down while never actually debating you on the merits of my position. I didn’t like it at all. I actually hadn’t made up my mind until the very last debate they had. Mitt Romney gave clear and concise answers to why he stands where he stands on the issues. Ms. O'Brien was a condescending, nasty person who had no clue what she was about. I voted for Mitt Romney. Not because the other candadate was arrogant, but on the issues.

In every election since then I have voted Republican because I have seen that the Democrat party has taken on a personality of arrogant elitism, and has continued to move more and more left so that they cease to recognize any standard of what is right and wrong. All is permissible and if you give us your money we’ll make it happen for you. Thanks, but no thanks.

I am so glad that I started paying attention. One last word; many so-called republicans want us to move to the left as a way to achieve better election results. Thanks, but no thanks.

UPDATE: I was reading article about the malicious attacks made on the character of Miss California Carrie Prejean by the self-righteous liberals and a really good point was made that goes along with my conversion from liberal to conservative. At the same time that decided to start paying attention to what the issues are and to question where I stand on the issues; at the same time I was getting more serious about my faith in God. I actually professed faith in Jesus as my LORD and Savior during this same time period and was baptized in His name (Feb. 2, 2000). Here is the quote from an Anne Coulter article that describes exactly where I came from (liberal view of religion) and actually becoming a Christian:

Christians aren't people who believe they are without sin; they're people who know they're sinners and are awestruck by God's grace in sending his only Son to take the punishment they deserve. This is in contradistinction to liberals, all of whom believe they're on a fast track to heaven on the basis of being "basically good" people -- and also believe that anyone who disagrees with that theological view is evil.

I said that this was inevitable. The debate over "same sex" marriage is not a gay-lesbian issue. It has nothing to do with gays or lesbians but rather the definition of something. Marriage is defined as something and once you change the definition of that something, it ceases to be that something anymore. It becomes nothing for everybody.

Why does the congressman not just come out and say what he believes? Because he has not prepared himself to debate why he believes what he believes.

As for Chris Matthews, listen to the way he phrases his argument. His questions are ripe with the preconception that, as he stated evolution is fact. He asked "Do you believe in science or creation?", clearly showing the creationism is not a scientific endeavor. He asks, "Do you believe in the scientific method?", clearly to show that the scientific method proves the truth of evolution.

Congressman Pence missed a great opportunity because he wasn't prepared to give a defense, which by the way we are instructed to do in God's Word.

If Chris Matthews had asked me if I believe in creation I would have said yes. When asked if I believe in the scientific method I would have answered yes. Mr. Matthews' next step would have been to question me on how I can believe in the scientific method when it clearly proves evolution is fact. That would have been my spring board into showing how the theory of evolution actually breaks apart under the scrutiny of the scientific method, starting with how do you get something from nothing?

Follow Up: Here is another video with Chris Matthews on the same subject. You've got to listen carefully. Problem one, his CATHOLIC school taught, or allowed the possibility, that men descended from apes. This stuff just drives me crazy....

A Great Man With A Great Message

Watching this video is a must. Yes, it's nearly 30 minutes long, but it is eye opening; like discovering a time capsule.

How we need this man and his message today.

By the way, I don't think this is the Republican National Convention as the video is titled. I've read elsewhere that it is actually the 1964 CPAC Conference, but I could be wrong.

I've Got A Funny Feeling (Funny-Bad)

It's been building for awhile and it looks like it's coming together. Ultra liberal congress, super-liberal President, soon to be liberal supreme court, and right around the corner legislating "Hate speech".

I'll be keeping an eye on a few things, but most importantly whether or not S.909 and HR1913 the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 passes congress. The ambiguous wording of this bill would allow for special prosecution of people who commit crimes that are

..motivated by prejudice based on the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of the victim, or is a violation of the State, local, or Ttribal hate crime laws.

This means that someone convicted of a crime against a person who is considered a member of a special "protected" group of people will receive a stiffer penalty than if the same crime is committed against a person who is NOT in that group of specially protected people. Who are some other these specially protected groups of people? Some 30 groups of sexually perverse people! Read the list right here.

On the ACLU website you'll find this as the opening of their information concerning hate speech:

In recent years, a rise in verbal abuse and violence directed at people of color, lesbians and gay men, and other historically persecuted groups has plagued the United States.

I just happen to read an article in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that described a meeting in Fort Worth where the motives of American Muslims was being discussed. The article started with:

What are the intentions of Muslims in America? A local activist told a Republican club Monday night that Muslims are intent on overthrowing America. But the Tarrant County medical examiner, who is Muslim, denounced such remarks as hate speech.

I'm getting a real bad feeling about this. Anyone who "feels" like what I say is hateful can sue me or have me arrested? What if the preacher at Church speaks out against homosexuality? What if I write on my blog that I think Asians can't drive worth a crap, all Italians are crooks, women are notorious liars or all Jews are money grubbers. I don't really think that, but I'm making a point. Is not my speech free under the first amendment?

Again, the first amendment provides me the freedom OF speech, NOT freedom FROM IT. The first amendment provides me with freedom OF religion, NOT freedom FROM IT.

I don't think we'll have these freedoms for much longer. I'm not saying...I'm just saying.

Case in point, I've written a little about the fall out from Miss California simply stating her opinion on same sex marriage. The liberals and the gay-lesbian community are tearing her apart and doing everything they can to destroy her reputation. In the very near future they will have laws on their side to prosecute!

I could go on and on. I read another article today that described how over 30 colleges and universities in the US have adopted same room co-ed living arrangements and the reason for this is "to create a more welcoming atmosphere for transgender and homosexual students". Don't believe me? Here is the article and you can read many more just like it with a simple web-search.

Relativism in the Highest

What’s at issue here is the same thing I’ve been writing about for awhile; the relativistic world view of liberal “progressive” people. To anyone who subscribes to that world view there is nothing concrete. No objective Truth, no idea that stays True for all time, for all people in all places. The liberal thinkers in our country apply that same ideology to our US constitution. Our constitution was written as a model for government that was to withstand the test of time.
President Obama’s view and the view of liberals is that the constitution is a changeable document that should be molded to fit our time. And this is exactly what we will get with the Presidents upcoming pick for the US Supreme Court.

It is destroying our country; LORD have mercy on us.

Top 10 Tips For a Better Community Garden

#9 - Obtain "starter plants" by raiding outdoor cafe flower pots.
#8 - For residents that aren't into gardening, try installing vending machines.
#7 - Don't allow local pot heads to plant pizza slices as there is no such thing as a pizza tree.
#6 - If someone plants a flesh-eating plant, kill it before it has babies and takes over the neighborhood.
#5 - Allot adjacent spaces, one to a working class immigrant family who actually need the food they grow and the other to an affluent organic gardener opposed to non-native plant species; sit back and watch the class conflict grow and flourish.
#4 - Ignore the "fruitcake" and "fairy" comments being yelled at you.
#3 - Let the ugly dowdy people take the lead on the project.
#2 - Never eat the vegetables grown in your community garden. Are you kidding? That plot of dirt used to be the parking lot for the public works truck fleet.

Although bobcat urine is a good method to repel rodents that eat vegetables, it will also turn your garden into a place overrun with volatile, dangerous bobcats.

The New Direction of Science Under President Obama

During his April 27, 2009, address at the National Academy of Sciences’ annual meeting, President Barack Obama called for focused scientific research aimed to improve the daily lives of American citizens. Among the advances that Mr. Obama said he would love to see come to fruition are “solar cells as cheap as paint; green buildings that produce all the energy they consume; learning software as effective as a personal tutor; prosthetics so advanced that you could play the piano again; [and] an expansion of the frontiers of human knowledge about ourselves and world the around us.”

Some of the loudest applause Mr. Obama received occurred when he said,

Next, we are restoring science to its rightful place. On March 9th, I signed an executive memorandum with a clear message: Under my administration, the days of science taking a back seat to ideology are over.

While the president refrained from commenting on any issues where people have used science’s ability to alter or destroy life as the justification for doing so, does Mr. Obama really believe that science is not influenced by the ideology of atheistic and evolution-only researchers? His decision to use federal funds to destroy human embryos for research made plain his scientific ideology, which is robustly supported by the scientific elite.

The closest science gets to operating free from ideological sanction is in the focused, experiment-based research and development that is doggedly fixed on producing the kinds of useful items the president appropriately detailed in his speech. Mr. Obama should redirect his influence to fully promote scientific achievement that really does foster good stewardship of this earth.

I have to admit I am writing this in anger.

I can only assume that by now you know what went down at this years 2009 Miss USA pageant. Miss California was asked about her view on same sex marriage and she gave an answer that was based on her opinion. I wrote about it a week or so ago and you can see the video by clicking here.

Below I've posted two other videos that show the tactics of the supposed "progressives". They either cannot or will not engage in substantive debate. They hate you if you have a different opinion and will stop at nothing to get you to shut up. They bully you with insults and personal attacks and scream to the world how you are a hypocrite and hateful, close-minded, etc.

Frankly it pisses me off. I have no problem with opinions other than mind. I enjoy good debate; I am not afraid of it. I hate bullies and hypocrites.

Note the factual and substantive argument in support of their point of view. That was sarcasm. They are hateful and call those who think differently from them hateful.

A Side Track

OK, again this is not my usual topic, but sometimes I can't resist. I am convinced that our nation is slowly but surely becoming a socialistic society and our citizenry is OK with that and wants it to be that way. In this video we can see the difference between capitalism and socialism.

Do you want the socialist method in which the government taxes you more and then provides us with a poorer quality product for less (or even free), or do you want the capitalist method where there is open competition and the customer decides with our purchasing power who will survive?

I read an article about how Kathy Ireland has come out in support of being pro-life. While I am glad she is doing this, what impressed me most is how she came to be of this mindset. I've pasted the article I read below.

Although was once pro-choice she approached the argument with an open mind. She investigated that facts asking experts on both sides for honest information. She allowed her decision to be based on facts.

Supermodel Kathy Ireland Speaks Out Against Pro Choice

It’s no secret that the majority of Hollywood stars are strong advocates for a woman’s right to choose whether or not she wants to terminate a pregnancy, however former "Sports Illustrated" supermodel-turned-entrepreneur-turned-author Kathy Ireland has gone against the grain of the glitterati and spoken out against abortion.

"My entire life I was pro-choice — who was I to tell another woman what she could or couldn’t do with her body? But when I was 18, I became a Christian and I dove into the medical books, I dove into science," Ireland told Tarts while promoting her insightful new book "Real Solutions for Busy Mom: Your Guide to Success and Sanity."

"What I read was astounding and I learned that at the moment of conception a new life comes into being. The complete genetic blueprint is there, the DNA is determined, the blood type is determined, the sex is determined, the unique set of fingerprints that nobody has had or ever will have is already there."

However Ireland admitted that she did everything she could to avoid becoming a believer in pro-life. "I called Planned Parenthood and begged them to give me their best argument and all they could come up with that it is really just a clump of cells and if you get it early enough it doesn’t even look like a baby. Well, we’re all clumps of cells and the unborn does not look like a baby the same way the baby does not look like a teenager, a teenager does not look like a senior citizen. That unborn baby looks exactly the way human beings are supposed to look at that stage of development. It doesn’t suddenly become a human being at a certain point in time," Ireland argued. "I’ve also asked leading scientists across our country to please show me some shred of evidence that the unborn is not a human being. I didn’t want to be pro-life, but
this is not a woman’s rights issue but a human rights issue." Ireland also asserted that she believes "no justification is adequate" (for an abortion) unless the mother's life is in danger.

"In that instant, your intention is not to kill but to save the life of another. If we’re about to demolish a building we make absolute certain there are no human beings in there before we take a wrecking ball to it, but the unborn doesn’t have a voice so it's up to us to speak for them," she added passionately. "If I see someone abusing a child I am going to stand up against that, and that’s how I feel about abortion. Women are not given all the facts, they’re told it is a harmless procedure and now it has turned into such a political football."

The committed Christian and devoted mother even dedicated the chapter "Faith & Your Family" in her new book to her foundations in Christianity and believes that this is what’s missing from so many American families today. "You have to figure out your own values and why you have them. People are going to try and push and pull at your convictions, so you have to have boundaries and put them in place," she said.

But on the opposite end of the spectrum, "Judging Amy" star Amy Brenneman has been busy voicing her views as a strong advocate of pro-choice over recent years. "My involvement is really through this feminist majority that I work with and it is
a very important issue that’s close to my heart. Unless a woman really has sovereignty over her own body we really haven’t come that far."

I believe the facts about abortion are the same no matter who considers them. We all approach this issue confronted with the same facts and we are left to make a decision regarding this issue based on those same facts. Some make a decision to be pro-life (aka anti-abortion), and other choose to support abortion. I think it all comes down to the question Amy Brenneman raised; who's sovereign? Is it me or is it God?

This is why I absolutely reject any person who claims to be Christian and yet supports abortion. The two are mutually exclusive world views. This even includes those in the so-called "pro-choice" camp. It is no excuse for you to say "I am against abortion but believe it is a personal choice" - NO! By being pro-choice and voting pro-choice you enable abortion activity. You have blood on your hands just the same as the most avid pro-abortion person out there.

By definition being a Christian means you have made God sovereign over your life. You have given your life over to Christ and asked Him to be your LORD! There is no doubt God hates abortion. The only position a Christian can have is pro-life, and being pro-choice is not being pro-life.
